Gnocchi Bake

Perfectly simple & cozy gnocchi bake.

Total time: 1 hour
Yield: 4 servings


  • 1 package of gnocchi about 1 lb
  • 1 28 oz can of diced or crushed tomatoes
  • ½ yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic diced
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 ball fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil


  • Preheat your oven to 400℉
  • In a cast-iron pot, cook the gnocchi per their instructions, but a few minutes less - strain & set aside once complete.
  • In the same pot, on medium heat, sauté the garlic and onion in the butter until fragrant - about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add in the diced/crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Let simmer for 25 minutes.
  • Add back in the gnocchi, top with torn-off pieces of fresh mozzarella. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Top with chopped basil to serve.


One-pot if using stovetop-to-oven safe cookware.
