- 2 oz tequila blanco
- 2 oz guava nectar
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- .5 oz orange liqueur
- Don’t add ice until you’re going to drink it! You don’t want the ice to melt and water it down.
- Instead of mixing in the cup you could alternatively add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and pour into the cup
- If you taste it and want it a bit sweeter, you can add some simple syrup or agave nectar but definitely taste it first as the guava juice adds a bit of sweetness
-
- If you can't find guava nectar, guava juice or guava puree are both fine
- Add a salt rim to the glass! Take a slice of lime around the rim of each glass glass and then dip it in some kosher salt - you want to use a coarse salt for rimming a margarita glass which is why kosher is preferred
- You don't need any special margarita glasses for this, any regular glass or even a mason jar works!
- Make this a spicy guava margarita by adding some jalapeño slices – they'll make the drink spicier as they sit so prep accordingly (if you want it spicier, put them in the tequila advance of drinking the margaritas and let them sit for a little while)
- While this is an on the rocks margarita, you can make it a frozen guava margarita by adding it to a blender with the ice until your desired consistency is reached
